Farscape D'Argo's Lament #4

The first D'Argo mini-series is completed! I'm in the middle of the second series right now and should have that finished sometime next week when I get back from my weekend trip to Vermont. Then it's all Previews ads unless Marvel or Wildstorm roll in with something that needs to be finished pronto.

Can't wait for vacation. We rented a lake house. I'll be bringing my laptop and maybe squeeze in a little lettering on Fist of Justice (since it's my own property, I don't get paid so I have to work on it when I can).

Iron Sirens #5

Now here's a book that doesn't need distribution using the regular comic book channels to succeed. This is the fourth issue without Diamond. It's offered for sale at local conventions and usually has the models themselves signing and selling copies.

This issue also changes to a magazine format which I personally think it should have been started as from the get-go.

Farscape: Gone and Back #1

Just finished lettering the next Farscape comic. If this series wasn't broken up into mini-series, this would be issue eight of the series. The D'Argo series take place in a different timeline (the past) so they don't count in this numbering system.

I think you should probably be looking at each mini-series as an episode so it should be easy to keep track. There's some good stuff happening in here. Besides that, it's the return of Tommy on art (who I prefer out of everyone so far). I believe this issue hits comic shops around the end of July. Okay, I'm off to finish off the fourth issue of D'Argo's Lament. With luck, I'll have that done by tomorrow and then start on D'Argo's Trial.

Hexed HC

My final trade paperback/hardcover for Boom is finished. Actually finished it a while ago but I'm waiting for word on what to fill the empty interior pages with.

The next project on my schedule is a mixture of everything. Trying to frenzy through a bunch of stuff at once so I can actually relax on vacation and not have to worry about anything. BloodRayne was sent off to the printer, Fist of Justice 5 is in the works.

BloodRayne: Prime Cuts #4

I can't believe it. It's finally finished and heading off to the printer. Yes, it's late and the distributor will make me go through an order adjustment in case any stores that ordered it want to cancel. But that's the life of a publisher who works for other publishers to pay the bills. If readers actually supported independent comics, then people can keep putting them out without having to do a 9-5 job.

This issue is pretty solid. I'm proud of it. Both artists are still working on new projects here at Digital Webbing HQ. But the thing is, one of the titles will hopefully be piped through Image Comics while the other goes through the iPhone/iPod system. Speaking of the iPhone, Apple releases the new one on Friday and I'm gonna get one. I'm dumping my regular cell and business phone and just moving everything into the iPhone. It's about time.

28 Days Later #1

Tim Bradstreet covers a Boom! Studios book?! It's true.

Hey, speaking of Boom, a friend of mine was doing covers for them, Mike DiPascale, he's done covers for Farscape, Eureka, etc. Apparently he hasn't been offered any new cover work but Boom's loss is my gain. Mike turned in this kick-ass BloodRayne cover, actually 3 of them in the past few weeks. He's working on a fourth one right now. One is for the Prime Cuts #4 incentive (which is extremely late), two are a new Rayne one-shot, and finally the last will be for Visions of BloodRayne Vol. 2.

Unthinkable #3

I dig this book but I think you're sick of hearing that from me so that's all I'll say about the subject. Except -- KFC is currently running a television campaign utilizing the words "Think the Unthinkable." heh.

I'm currently plowing through my workload so I can go on vacation in July. It's gonna be sweet -- we rented a lake house. This weekend we're heading off to "Rib Fest" which is turning out to be a really big thing here in New England. Heard they have J.Geils performing! Musta got lost!!

GeNext: United #3

Gave this book a quick turnaround and I'm pretty happy how it came out. It's one of the few books I letter that still use the traditional thought balloons. This issue even uses the older whisper balloons (y'know the dashes around the balloon).

After turning it in, I'm beginning to second-guess my decision on the whisper balloon. One of the reasons the dashed balloon was phased out is because sometimes they get lost in the background's coloring. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they get lost.

Irredeemable #4

By the time this post goes public, Diamond Distribution will have this issue in their hands ready to send off to stores. I gotta admit, I'm impressed at the schedule of this series -- it's coming out on time, every time.

Oh, I got a quote I want to share with you:

"Ed's great..." -- Mark Waid

And yes, I got permission to run that quote from the man himself. LOL

Last Reign TP

One of the last trade paperbacks I'm doing for Boom! Studios. Next one is the Hexx HC which should be completed by the time this post goes public.

The artist who drew the last two chapters of this volume is gonna be familiar to BloodRayne fans as I hired him to draw the full-length BloodRayne Prime Cuts (Cut?) comic due out towards the end of the years. Covers are already completed so we're rolling. More details as they progress.

Farscape: Dargo's Lament #3

The third issue of the third Farscape mini-series is at the printer. I'm already starting on the next two mini-series so it's looking like a Farscape month for me.

I heard the HC collection for the first mini-series is out, can't wait to have one in my hands.

Absurd Adventures of Archibald Aardvark TP

Sometimes you don't realize you missed working with someone until you come back. I was contacted by Kris and Jim over at Shadowline to help fill in and do some speedy lettering on a project. There was a new story that needed to get finished so the trade collection for Archibald could get out there. I enjoyed it!

When you do a fill-in for an existing book, you need to try to simulate the lettering style of the previous issues so it's not so jarringly different. But at the same time, you like to toss in your style. I think I accomplished it.

Prototype #4

Wildstorm's fourth issue of Prototype is done (actually a few days ago -- yes, I'm using Blogger's schedule feature again!). Really weird lettering over pencils on this one. We'll see how it comes out. Wildstorm's production team is very good so I have no worries it'll go smoothly.

There are only 2 more issues left and I've already signed on for another video game series which I can't wait to start. It's a series I would have loved to published under the Digital Webbing banner when I was putting out comics.

Fall of Cthulhu: Apocalypse TP

This is volume 5 for Boom's Fall of Cthulhu series. I didn't letter it, just designed and pre-pressed the trade (like most of the trades). Also did the logo, simple but does the trick.

Next trade is Last Reign and finally my last one will be Hexed. Yes, my workload will be cut in half after that so I'm gonna enjoy the summer. When I'm back, I'll be seeing what's out there for work.

Vampirella Second Coming #1

One of the books I really enjoy lettering is Vampirella. Yeah, I know it's not "your thing" for a lot of people, but I just dig the character. When I was a kid, I picked up the various issue of the Warren mags and really thought it was a good book.

Well, Harris is bring Vampi back in an all-new mini-series and I'm glad I'm on board. Phil Hester is writing it with Romulo Fajardo on art. It has a very Brian Hitch vibe to it. Check it out if you get a chance!
