Farscape: Dargo's Lament #2

Finished this on Monday, posting it up on my birthday! Working late night (it's Monday when I'm writing this) on Diamond Previews covers and ads. Also have to redesign a logo for one of Boom's titles -- artists keep filling out the covers making it incredibly hard to place a readable logo on them. Hah!

Don't know if anyone knew this since logo designers aren't credited, I've created several logos for Boom, stuff like Fall of Cthulhu, X Isle, Necronomicon, The Unknown, Savage Brothers and a bunch of others I've forgotten.

Irredeemable #3

Oops. I'm getting too used to the scheduling feature on Blogger that I'm forgetting to update this sucka.

Latest issue of Irredeemable is finished. Working on monthly books is crazy because the next issue is here before you know it. Days, weeks, and months fly by. On a mini-series, you're usually talking a season passes before your eyes, this is one of the... wait, I think this is my first monthly since ShadowHawk. Groovy.

Zombie Tales Vol 4 TP

"This Bites" is the sub-title for this volume but it doesn't! It's a good ending for this year-long series. I'm sure it'll peak its head back into the schedule it the future. You can't keep zombies down, they're everywhere!

The rest of the month looks easy for me. I'm mostly finished with Irredeemable #3 and Farscape Dargo #2. I have an issue of BloodRayne I have to letter while I wait for my Marvel and DC books to roll in... probably any day now.

Farscape Strange Detractors #3

Oops. I actually finished this issue on Tuesday morning, Eureka was finished on Monday. I'm trying to stay ahead of the Farscape game since there's like 3 simultaneous mini-series being worked on at once. Plus I want to devote time to the some upcoming series I'll be working on.

Next up -- Volume 4 of the Zombie Tales trades.

Eureka Vol 1 TP

Finished this yesterday but spaced on updating. It's Blogger's ability to schedule blog posts that spoil me. I like to submit all the posts and come back a few days later without worry of posting daily.

I really dug this show on the first season. Plus it was cool to see an episode showcasing some of my design work. I didn't catch any episodes after the first season mostly because I just didn't have time to watch TV.

Unthinkable #1

I begged to letter this series because of the artist. He's the same guy that drew William Baldwin's The Remnant series. I really dug Julian Tedesco's work. I believe you're gonna see some good titles come out of him. I bet it'll be no time before he's snatched by Marvel or DC just like another guy who's work admired; Rafael Albuquerque; who later was snatched up by DC to draw the Blue Beetle.

Look for the same to happen with Julian. Mark by words.

Galveston TP

I was originally suppose to letter this series but some stuff happened and I was never able to. At least I was able to design and composite this collection. That counts for something, right?

Trade paperback production has slowed down but looks to be getting a little spike for the summer, I count about a half dozen in the next couple months. I better get a head start as they tend to really put me behind on lettering.

Farscape: Strange Detractors #2

Seems like Farscape is something I'm working on every week, doesn't it? Well, there are like 2-3 issues coming out a month so I can see why I get that feeling. I turned this in earlier last week and already have most of #3 finished and ready to shoot off to the printer when they say the word.

I think I get one small Farscape break after this before I dive into Dargo's Lament #2. Catch you back here tomorrow if this Blogger automated posting thing actually works the way it's suppose to.

Farscape Vol 1 Hardcover

This was actually done earlier this month but I'm just now getting around to posting it up. Actually, Blogger is posting it up since I'm writing a bunch of these ahead of time for posting.

This is the second trade collection done at full size, the other being the Potter's Field hardcover. I'm okay with the 6x9 format, but I prefer the 7x10 format so much more. You just get more detail out of the art like it was originally intended. Plus you're not straining to read the text -- as we get older, it gets harder to read. heh.

Irredeemable #2

Playing catch-up on my blog postings. Been pumping out books left and right now that taxes are done. I got slammed on taxes -- was looking into buying a hot tub but that option has been washed away. For now.

Second issue of Irredeemable is a great read. This book is hot! You should be checking it out.

Hero Squared: Love and Death #3

Man, I'm gonna miss working on this series. JM DeMatteis knows how to write a story and quickly became one of my favorite writers to work with. Although this series took longer to letter than the average comic, the payoff was worth it in the end. Fans of the series should be happy with this final issue.

Okay, I'm outta here... gotta go pick up my taxes so they can be mailed.

Farscape: Dargo's Lament #1

I'm running behind on blog updates -- taxes KILLED me this year. Every time I devoted time to work on them, some deadline for something else surfaced. I eventually worked on them last week and stayed up until 5:30AM to make sure the brunt of it was finished.

I've lettered and designed some books this month so I'll be posting them daily to get caught up. Yeah, I use my blog as a work history... tough. It's not like anyone but a handful of peeps read it anyways.
