X-Files #2

You want to believe -- because it's true. LOL. I just finished lettering the second issue. I'm also turning in another Wildstorm book I finished but can't post, for some reason it hasn't been solicited yet. Weird. Is this what it feels like to work fo the big guys? They actually get issues finished BEFORE solicitation? That's wild, I gotta try it.  :-)
Two Digital Webbing Press comics came out yesterday, did you get 'em? BloodRayne Tokyo Rogue #3 and Demon's Regret #3. Run to the store... now! ;-)

Warhammer: Exterminatus TP

Finished compositing the trade and hard cover for the 3rd Warhammer 40,000 series. Next up a couple more trades, X-Files and The Remnant, plus E-Man. Man, I need two of me.
Fist of Justice colored pages for #4 started rolling in so I gotta tackle those when I get a chance. Did you see the Sword of Dracula pages up on the MTV website? Pretty sweet.

Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode #2

The latest issue is finished. Y'know, I can never find cover images online for Devil's Due's books. Most of the online shops just have a copy of the Previews solicitation, which explains why this looks so wonky (I sized it to fit the 100x155 spot I use for cover previews).
Next up are a bunch of Boom! trades, X-Files #2 and still need to finish off E-Man.

BOOM! Studios 2009 Catalog

Spent all week working on revisions, tweaks, and compositing books from the previous week. Plus I lay out and prep all the covers and credits for Boom's line of books so that keeps me extremely busy.
But was able to squeeze out a few pages of Sword of Dracula lettering for the upcoming preview on MTV's site. For the rest of this week, hoping to blast through E-Man and maybe even draw some Fist of Justice!

Big Hero Six #3

Last week I finally got a peep at the final pages for issue 2, and they were really, really sweet. Lettering is usually done on the black & white art so I don't see the finished product until it hits the racks. The coloring on this series is incredible. Next time you visit a shop, flip through an issue, I think you'll agree.
This issue was a fun story so I enjoyed lettering it. You can tell the artist is really getting comfortable with the characters and he's really shining bright here especially.

Fall of Cthulhu: The Gray Man TP

Just finished Fall of Cthulhu volume 3 so it'll be uploading all night. Next up is Big Hero Six #3 for Marvel and The Remnant #1 for Boom. And somehow inbetween that, E-Man for my own publishing empire.
Pages for Iron Sirens and Prime Cuts #4 started rolling in today. Also received the first quarter of Sword of Dracula colored and they all look beautiful.
Hey, anyone having problems with the div tag on these blogs? It seems to toss on and extra line between paragraphs so I have to manually go in and edit the tag to remedy it. Or maybe it's just a Safari thing?

Scream Queen TP

I didn't usually post trade paperbacks as works because I basically just design them instead of lettering them. But it's becoming a regular thing and they do take up time to prepare 'em. Besides, I kinda use this blog to help remind me what to invoice for. Hah.
For a while now, people have been buying trades instead of the singles. I'm finally adapting that formula with titles I know will make it to trades. Remember, kiddies, independent comics usually don't make it to trades if the singles don't sell enough. For example, it seems like every month I get email from readers wanting a trade collection of FIST OF JUSTICE, but to be honest, based on the sales of the singles, I can't see how I'd ever break even on printing costs for a trade. But hey, if the audience grows to a point where I won't lose my shirt... that's another story.

HP Lovecraft's Nyarlathotep

Here's a cool book any Lovecraft fan will dig, especially if you dig Mike Mignola's work since artist Chuck BB channels Mignola a little. The text is written by H.P. Lovecraft so any diehard fan will need to get their hands on this.

Logo and design of book is by me. The logo was a cool font I found but tweaked to fit my needs, ie; lots of adding and cropping of vectors. Looking at it again makes me want to do one more tweak.

Eternals Annual #1

Quick post since I'm slammed.

Cool book! And it's finished! Now I'm onto another Marvel book and another crazy week of busy.

Warhammer: Fire & Honour #4

Mad-crazy-busy week and Warhammer starts it off. Working on a Cthulhu graphic novel next, hopefully finish it before the end of the day so I can tackle 2 Marvel gigs and have them turned in by the end of the week... or beginning of next week.

Hey, it's like spring again here in Massachusetts, temperature is currently 63 degress and the sun is blasting. And it's suppose to get warmer as the week progresses. I think people from Florida are gonna have come up here for the warmer winters. heh.

BloodRayne Tokyo Rogue #3

Tah-dah. Finished BloodRayne and it'll be uploaded to the printer tonight and sitting there waiting for them in the morning. Next up on the Digital Webbing Press schedule is E-Man.

Next up for other publishers is Warhammer, X-Files, Big Hero Six, The Eternals, and a bunch of trade paperbacks.

Spooks: Omega Team #3

Wow, it seems like just last week I lettered the second issue. Oh, wait -- it WAS! I'm trying to get through my commitments so I turn my focus onto like 20 trade paperbacks for Boom. Crazy, I know, but I can do it.

This month I wanted to draw some Fist of Justice but I don't know how I'm gonna be able to pull it off... although it's only 3 pages, I'm sure gonna try. I might have to call in some help on the inking. We'll see how it goes. I'm actually pretty excited about it. Who knows, if I enjoy it enough, maybe I can start drawing the whole book? Nahhh. Who am I kidding?  :-)

Prototype #1

Just finished issue #1 for Wildstorm/DC. I gotta tell you, I went into this blind, just knowing it was based on a video game property. Once I got the pages, I wasn't just blown away by the art, but the story hooked me. And just think, I almost passed on this book. Glad I didn't.

Hey, a shout out to some of my Dukeshire cousins, I just found out I get Googled because they read graphic novels and want to see what I'm working on next. That's awesome!
