Blood Bowl #3

Blasted through Blood Bowl today. I think this is the fastest I've ever finished lettering a book. Not only did I have to letter, I had to resize the art to specs, lay out the 3 covers, the credits page and finally InDesign it all together.

Total time, a little over 4 hours. I definitely don't want to be doing that ever again. Hah!

Spooks: Omega Team #1

Three down, 2 more to go. Just finished Spooks #1. Now tackling Iron Sirens #3 and finally Blood Bowl #3. Then I should be pretty much caught up and can focus on a little titled called Fist of Justice #3.

Man, it's hot outside.... and I'm trapped inside playing letterer.

Warhammer: Condemned By Fire #4

Phew... the second book for the week is finished... now it's onto the next, and then the next, and next...

I'm trying to clear out my plate because I'm going on vacation in August. Me and the woman rented a cabin in the mountains and I ain't bringing my computer!

Next up; Blood Bowl, Spooks, Iron Sirens.

Vix #2

This issue really moves the story along and reveals a bunch of goodies. I think the first issue came out -- although I haven't seen any comps yet (should be any day now).

Next title on my to-do list is Warhammer. See you tomorrow, hopefully.

NewUniversal Conqueror

I actually finished this issue on Friday but had to blast off for the weekend before I could post it up. I'll admit it, I'm not really familiar with this series but gotta say I've been enjoying it. One of the perks with lettering is discovering new titles.

Looks like a busy week for me... Iron Sirens #3, X-Files #2, Vix #2 and a couple Warhammers. Book a day mode is back!

BloodRayne Tokyo Rogue #2

Whew... everytime I tried to work on Rayne, something else rolled in with a "must have this now" deadline. It's unfortunate that all Digital Webbing books take a backseat to my regular gigs, but I gotta face reality and go with the job that puts food on my table and beer in my fridge.

Although, I'm going to start trying different with DW books, ie; lettering pages as they roll in on the pencil stage. It should be easy enough to letter a page every once in a while so I won't feel deadline pressure. We'll see if it works or not.

Halloween 30th Anniversary Special

Devil's Due is putting out a one-shot special celebrating 30 years of Halloween. Specially, Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise. I had the pleasure of lettering all the stories in the book so you should check it.

Next up on my to-do list: BloodRayne (finally!)

The Remnant Preview

I actually finished this book a few weeks ago but couldn't post about it. It's officially announced at SDCC next week but I saw a press release hit so it must be safe to mention it.

The Remnant is a cool series by Stephen Baldwin and Andrew Cosby. Wait until you see the interior art, I bet you'll dig it.

Warhammer: Exterminatus #2

Exterminatus #2 is done! I missed out lettering the first issue due to banging away on the WarHammer OGN last month. So it feels weird coming in on the middle of a story and getting used to who is who so the balloons match to the correct peeps.

Next up on my schedule is Vix #2, Halloween, Tokyo Rogue #2, FOJ #3, and just got another Marvel title today. It's a busy, busy summer!

Warhammer: Fire & Honour #1

Back on the Warhammer books. I had to pass on lettering the last few Warhammer titles because I was really burnt out on that WH OGN. Believe it or not, I'm still recovering and playing catch-up on all my other projects because of it. Well, one WH down, one more to go!

One of the bad things about being a freelancer is there's no set schedule for books, they just come in and you need to turn 'em around immediately. So, I'm back into book-a-day mode in hopes of getting ahead of the game. I may have to spend some weekends to work through it though. Luckily SDCC is next week so there shouldn't be any new projects hitting with immediate deadlines. I bet it'll almost feel like a mini-vacation for me. Ahhhh.

Big Hero Six #1

Chris Claremont's next project is lettered. Also, wanted to mention that the inker on this project is someone I've worked with in the past on Sword of Dracula. Terry Pallot was the artist on the last two issues of the Image Comics run, and the first two issues of the Digital Webbing run. He also did the short story in Digital Webbing Presents #21 (the issue with the Bernie Wrightson cover).

Small world.

Vampirella Quarterly Summer 2008

Finished the next Vampi Quarterly. This issue is the final chapter of Joshua Fialkov's serialized Vampirella feature.

Even though the chaoticness of finishing gigs for SDCC is over, now I'm playing catch-up with all the projects that got pushed to the side, and of course, new projects rolling in on top of the catch-up ones.

Rest #0

Finished lettering the Rest #0 99c Special for Devil's Due.

Rest is a comic by Milo Ventimiglia, the actor who plays Peter Petrelli on NBC's Heroes series. Do a quick search online or check last month's Previews to find out what it's about.

Wait until you see the art... it's really, really good!

NewUniversal 1959

Just finished this mega-size story. Illustrated by my buddies Greg Scott and Kody Chamberlain. Looking at the Marvel site, I see another buddy of mine coloring it; Val Staples. I also see that Rus Wooton was slated to letter this, hope you're not mad, Rus! Rus and I worked on a bunch of Rick Remender's stuff under Image Central.

Man, comics is a small world. Everyone knows everyone.

Battle For Earth #3

Anyone remember this series? Digital Webbing published 2 issues before Diamond canceled the last issue. Yeah, they canceled the book even though #3 was the LAST issue of the series. Whacked.

So, Mark Chernesky, the creator has been patiently working on this with artist Alex Araiza -- and now it's finished! Not sure if it'll make it out in time for SDCC, but I sure hope so. I got slammed with a major deadline crunch that I kept putting this off. So tonight I decided to stay up and letter the whole book. Man, I'm tired. Need sleep.
